What do you mean by the backscreen key? Page up? Or the browser's "back" button?
My keyboard has this terrible key located to the left of the up-arrow key that acts like a browser's back button. (I hate this key.)
Annotald is supposed to prevent you from leaving the page if you have unsaved work, by popping up a dialog box that says (something to the effect of) "are you sure you want to leave this page?" At least, that's what it does if you use the mouse to click the browser's back button. I have no idea what it will do for a keyboard key.
Did that warning appear in this case? (Perhaps you can experiment to see if it does).
What kind of computer do you have? A Mac? The best thing to do might be to figure out how to disable this key, so that it does nothing when pressed.
There's never a warning screen with the back navigation key, and it does this even when you've saved changes.
I have a Lenovo. It looks like I can disable the key if I'm willing to download some extra software, which I am totally willing to do. (It also looks like there are legions of Lenovo users railing against this design feature on the internet; I feel vindicated.)
I inadvertently hit the backscreen key while parsing, and lost all of the changes I'd made in that session, even though I'm pretty certain I had been saving.
