The project seems unmaintained and according to unsolved issues >1 year old, doesn't detect dots on some printers?
It does seem unmaintained. It was a research project that started it, then it eventually led to Deda. I'm still researching every angle.
I have contacts with one of the people in the commit log, I'll reach out and ask.
Closing as the project is archived and the maintainers have abandoned it unfortunately.
Add section "Eliminating Tracking Dots in Printed Documents":
548116ee55c7 - add document watermarking section d50e7c87c3c1 - warning: physical copies of digital material
cf. Forensic Analysis and Anonymisation of Printed Documents
This [draft] section clarifies what tracking pixels in printed documents are capable of, how they are used in forensic investigations, as well as how to defeat them using the toolkit Deda. Deda is able to remove tracking from printed documents, which can be used to find the exact model number and serial number, as well as, in some extreme cases, reveal the location of the printer.
