What is your idea or suggestion?
I propose that tapping an arbitrary place on the touch screen while editing a bot reply should no longer cause the edit prompt to close.
Alternately, I propose that giving this edit field a simply "You have unsaved changes" warning prompt if the user tries to close the edit field after making changes.
How would this feature benefit users?
Users would be far less likely to accidentally close the Reply Edit text field if this change were implemented.
Can you provide any examples or use cases for the proposed feature?
The present situation:
Talk to any bot and have it reply, then click the "Edit Reply" button.
Type anything in the text field, then click an arbitrary place outside of that field.
The text prompt vanishes with neither a warning or any chance to save the post.
The proposed situation:
Talk to any bot and have it reply, then click the "Edit Reply" button.
Type anything in the text field, then click an arbitrary place outside of that field.
The text prompt does not vanish or warns the user of their unsaved changes and offers the chance to go back.
Additional Comments
It seems like a few users "miss" the tiny, green "Confirm" icon when editing a bot's reply. At present, tapping pretty much anywhere on the screen will cause the prompt to close, discarding any and all edits. This seems counter-intuitive as doing this on any other prompt or form will simply disable text input or warn the user of unsaved changes rather than close the text field outright.
