How to backup my ISP's firmware DGA4130 #1137

Hi there everyone, I have just received DGA4130 from my ISP for 35b vectoring and I would like to set it up in bridge mode. The thing is, that I am kind of "renting" this from my ISP, so in case I would like to return it later, how could I reset it to default settings?

Is it possible to backup my current firmware so that I could upload it later? By the way, current software version I have is Firmware Version 17.1.8066-0001009-20211207164703

Or is there a way to setup bridge mode without flashing, just with rooting?

to reset to stock, in general, and also with this GUI installed, you just need to reset twice from the reset button.

to backup stock firmware (if you are going to change it..) https://hack-technicolor.readthedocs.io/en/stable/Resources/#making-dumps

maybe share the dump on the hack-technicolor repo as afaics, there is no 17.1 fw for DGA4130.

@FrancYescO The problem is that I cannot make a dump as I cannot access SSH because it lacks root. In order to make a root on this one, I need to install 1.0.3AGTEF firmware. So it will remove my current ISP's firmware. I might be understanding something wrong though. Could you explain how can I access the SSH then to make dump without yet done root?

Try all procedures linked here https://hack-technicolor.readthedocs.io/en/stable/Hacking/Type2/, probably #C or #D will work on your firmware version, but only you can try.

oviusly if you install the 1.0.3AGTEF firmware, you will permanently lose your stock firmware, as there is no dump available, so take this as a last resort.

if you need more help for rooting ask directly on the hack-technicolor repository https://github.com/hack-technicolor/hack-technicolor/discussions

Really sorry to ask you again, just tried A, B and C strategies and none of them worked. For D strategy, I've been using google translate to translate from Italian and I am slightly not getting it. How to connect to clash SSH, if ssh only works after the root? The problem is, that when I try to connect to the router through ssh with gui login and password it tells me "Connection refused". Or does it mean that this method will not work?

You cannot use #D if ssh is not available (stock to non-root user)... give a try also for #E

on hack-technicolor we can give you any others hint based on the situation, maybe with some little mods (i.e. tch-exploit needs your pc configured with some ISP's settings) other procedures can work
