Live-antergos 18.9 on my usb-stick can boot my Medion Akoyna 3222 . Here I can start an extern live-dvd without problem. But I cannot start antergos-live-usb. The message I get: Failed to start loader .efi (14) Not found

Same issues here: https://forum.antergos.com/topic/10729/error-not-seeing-efi/2 https://forum.antergos.com/topic/8083/iso-17-10-x86_64-arch-boot-vmlinuz-not-found/12

The notebook is Medion Akoya 3222 Bios is: GeminiLake_YS13G_V1.0... In Bios I had have unabeled secureboot and fastboot I had have abeled: custom.

The usb-stick made with suse-studio-imagewriter like the manual shows. On other notebook without UEFI I have no problems with the start of the antergos-live-usb.

Proposal for solution: Maybe it would help, if the antergos-usb-default.conf will be change in the 2.line: linux /EFI/archiso/vmlinuz.efi

I have the same issue on Intel hardware (CPU+GPU). But I'm using desktop.

This is still an issue with the 18.12 image. vmlinuz is not under /EFI/archiso/vmlinuz on the ISO, which causes the boot to fail.

This is still a problem, I've seen it a few times on the forum in the last week. I understand you are very busy so is it possible to simply remove the USB option from view until you have the time to fix it properly (I haven't looked at why it fails I'm simply assuming it hasn't been fixed because it's not that simple and it will take time), thanks.

I get a boot loop (endless showing Antergos loading screen) when I select Antergos Live System (cd/dvd), I'm booting from USB (8GB). Previously it was working.

LinuxUserGD commented 5 years ago

If I boot the non-graphical version, I get Buffer I/O error on dev sdb1, logical block 0, async page read I've formatted the USB with Fat32 and copied the files to EFI including vmlinux.efi.

Edit: I tried it with another USB and now it works.

to maybe provide some insight. I had this issue when burning the image from windows using etcher, and usbwriter. The issue went away once I used rufus with gpt. seems like the image is easy to break when writing to the usb. hope that helps

Selecting the CD/DVD option from the menu, as suggested here, works for me with 19.4.
