PS4 Controller with Dark Souls ONLY: camera spins counterclockwise constantly regardless of input #410

lately I used antimicro to play my modded Skyrim with no problem. Today I got an old Dark Souls disk copy off of eBay (got it for cheap but that means not on Steam sadly), I installed it and mapped my trusty ps4 controller for it. Good news is every key press triggers correctly, bad news is that the camera spins counterclockwise continuously on its own :(

Inputting right on the joystick (so opposite of the direction the camera is spinning) does actually counter whatever phantom input is registering through antimicro and stopping the camera rotation. Also changing controller to another ps4 controller made no difference. Also also, trying the exact same setup on a different computer replicated the bug: camera spinning ccw regardless of input. Also also also trying the same setup in Skyrim reveals no problem whatsoever, the stick does exactly what it is supposed to do.

Does someone know what's going on with Dark Souls - Prepare to Die Edition in particular???

I should maybe specify that the game does not recognise the controller on its own, I'm stuck with having to map one to my keyboard, which is no problem except for this very big issue.

I am curious to know if a steam copy of the game would possibly recognise the controller and solve the issue, however I found exactly zero people online having the same problem, and I don't really feel like buying a steam copy just to test it out...

AntiMicro is no longer maintained. There were no bigger fixes since 2017.
There is a new recommended version of this app called AntiMicroX.

As a part of cleanup, this issue will be closed.
If you find this issue relevant also for that new version of application you can create a new issue there (but firstly check it, because many issues of the old app are fixed and there are some new functionalities implemented)
