Unable to Reinstall PRO-B or PRO-C (6.60 2g PSP-200x) #475

What steps will reproduce the problem?
Reinstalling PRO-B Fix1 or PRO-C Fix3 (6.60)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expected Holding down the L Button to engage reinstalling from PRO-B to PRO-C.

Holding the button does nothing, the test button Installs the CFW rather than
tests it - the files are not removed after a reset.

Uninstalling cIPL fixes that issue, however after uninstalling cIPL and either
of the firmwares, the PSP does not recognize the fact that the CFW is gone and
prompts for Reinstalling rather than Installing from scratch, and again,
Holding down L does not work.

Testing however does, and after installing cIPL once more the firmware appears
to be installed permanently.

Please provide any additional information below.
I tried every possible combination and attempted uninstalling, installing and
reinstalling with both the B10fix1 package and the Cfix4 package. Neither
combination leads to getting the standard Install prompt, I always end up in
the Reinstall option which does not work and the Test option which Installs the
CFW instead. Additionally, the PRO-C installer does not function when launched
from a Photofast adapter, however it does boot normally from a Sony MSPD. I did
not reflash the PSP into a virgin state - that'd probably fix the issue, I just
wanted to give you a heads-up that the Uninstaller does not appear to remove
all entries and the Installer still thinks that the CFW is present when it
isn't.

how about manually updating and uninstalling PRO

Uninstall CIPL >>> Go to PRO Update and Press Triangle to uninstall CFW

after that download 6.60 PRO-Cfix3 and install it

Like I said - that doesn't work as expected. Uninstalling the cIPL works just
fine, uninstalling the CFW indeed removes it, however the Installer does not
acknowledge it and offers only the option to Reinstall rather than Install or
Test as it should. ;)

The CFW works just fine, it's the Installer that appears to be bugged.

Uninstall the CFW with the instaler you used to install it, not a newer
installer. If that wont help (since you didnt write down your PSP model, but
since you used the COPL flasher I gues it's a pandorable model) use the Pandora
tool with a MMS, Format Flash 0 ( and install a clean copy of a lower OFW (ie.
5.00) update to OFW 6.20 and install 6.20 PRO CFW with Permanent bootloader
rather than other version with the CIPL.

First, to reinstall, you need to press the L button and while pressing it,
click on cross: http://code.google.com/p/procfw/issues/detail?id=317

"Launch cfw" means install cfw and launch it.

"Photofast adapter" <-- Please open a new issue for that and explain what's
wrong

Are all your question answered ?

Pretty much. The message is pretty unclear as it does not mention having to
press X while holding down the button. As for the PhotoFast adapter, I know
that some of them work perfectly fine and some just don't since I have several.
Surely this one is just a tad defective.
