Enable/Disable VSH menu #482

Okay, I guess the summary says all necessary things, but just to make sure you
understand it I fill out the usual stuff here ;-)

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Start procfw
2. go to the recovery menu
3. search for a "use vsh menu" item

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
expected: a menu entry to toggle vsh menu
instead: doesn't exist

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
PSP 3000 6.20 PRO C (fix3)

I know it is (or might be) possible to add this feature with the help of a
plugin. I already tried to find one, but wasn't that lucky.
Okay, there were some results via google, but all the DL links were either
broken or only for community members (depending on the used board). There
should also be a possibility to add this feature myself in the code and compile
it myself. unfortunately I'm not blessed with the necessary skills (so far).

so, is there any way to ad this feature in an upcoming release?

What's the purpose of disabling the vsh menu ?

Some plugins use key combos, which interfers with the vsh menu, opening by
pushing the select button. Also I like the idea to have a PSP that doesn't act
like a "hacked" device... ;)

I don't think it would be a good idea to allow disabling it because if someone
has the ProCFW but he wants to access the recovery menu, he won't be able
because of a disabled VSH menu.

I'm waiting for your arguments before closing the issue.

Sure there is another way to enter the recovery menu: hold down the R-key while
a cold reboot... :-) :
