Hi Orville,

Looks good, this exercise is intended in part to give you an introduction to the general rhythm of this course. The course is entirely project-based with an app being assigned each week and then due the following week. Each project builds on the last to help each engineer learn the practical elements of Android development and best practices as quickly as possible.

I wanted to let you know that unfortunately the class is already nearing full at this point, but we are happy to add you to the course waitlist. We will be determining final admittance into the program over the next 2 weeks. For those not admitted as participants, we can also offer access to applicants as a remote observer cohort that has access to the materials and is able to work on the projects at their own pace.

Hope you enjoyed working on the pre-work so far. You are definitely encouraged to continue working on this project now that you've hit the initial pre-work deadline. We'll be following up again with you soon.

Thank you Nathan, I am excited about the course whether taking it as remote observer or actually being there directly. I'm glad I got the project in but there are so many things that I want to improve upon. I am going to be updating the project over the next week and I could really do with some feedback after the next iteration. I'm going to organize the code and source files to a higher standard, change to a sql database from writing to file, and hopefully expand functionality and then try to improve the ui. I really learned a lot since because I had never used java, the android platform or even tried to build a mobile app, so this is really exciting. If I have any technical questions can I bother you perhaps? There were a couple things about fragments I can wait till the course but its an itch that I've got to scratch.

Thanks Orville

Hi Orville,

Great, will keep you updated. Can you update your README as outlined here as well?

ApexBugFinder commented 8 years ago

Hello Nathan, I managed to update the README file. I haven't checked this email address since last month but I've been working on the project diligently. Thanks for your patience. I really learned a lot. I changed the ui, but I admit it still could do with some work. I managed to get all the required and optional items. I'm going to keep working and updating it. This week I want to work on unit testing finally. Thanks Orville

Nathan, I was new to github and I made a few mistakes with Github and I just realized that I've been pushing to a different Repository. I will update you with the new repository because I don't think it is possible for me to merge the two projects. It should be updated tonight.
