Fulfilled so far:

Diodes removed
2 additional JSTs have been added
- 1 i2c bus for FPGA
- 1 i2c bus for generic future expansion.

Diodes should be removed 2 extra i2c ports should be added 1 extra spi port should be added for the screen 1 extra connector should be added with pins we consider would be useful on a display

Adding a 2-pin JST for every key to enable backlight, and designing "PCB-based" key faces should be explored

Remove diodes Add display connector (mipi/jst?)

As for the connector type, I am convinced the mainboard should only require a JST. It only should require a low bandwidth bus (If we use the FPGA we can unify everything with i2c) and let whatever we choose as the display driver generate the high-entropy display signal over there
