chore: Fix events via url

🐛 Issue

Links to events were broken

✏️ Solution

• Fix the component selection logic so it includesevents
• Went a step further and consolidated the route -> component selection logic; it now only has a single path (previously there were two almost identical case statements, and an event fix had only been applied to one of them)
