I just did something like this where I mentioned some people (by accident, really, because I was quoting them from Twitter) and they came over and started collaborating. Gianfranco can fork the repo and issue pull requests, as can anyone. If you'd like to give him permission to edit the repository directly, you can do that in a few clicks through settings, or I can do it for you and document the process.
@giefferre: If you can see this, can you give us a ping?
I just tried to add him to the team of collaborators but the Add button was greyed out.
After a bit of research, I have an answer:
Although typing a @judykitteh
links to you, your username is just judykitteh
. Twitter has figured out to ignore that, but GitHub has not. Instead of @giefferre
just put giefferre
in the field, and it should work as expected.
Great! Done. Closing this issue. :+1:
How do I add people to GitHub? Is it just a matter of mentioning their GitHub handle?
For example, I want to add @giefferre, Gianfranco Reppucci, who is the Appsterdam ambassador for Milan. Now that I've mentioned his name, will he now see this post and be able to contribute to the repo?
