I know for me, it's sometimes hard to make it to a regular weekly meeting in-person (or even Skype) each and every week, depending on what's going on with my work. I'm guessing that's the case for others, too.
But it's nice to get together like that and if people participate, it helps to keep momentum going.
Maybe do it in-person only once or twice a month, and the other weeks do it through Github?
I like the idea of changing the name of the meeting. Hadn't thought about that until you mentioned it. How about "Appsterdam Weekly" or "Appsterdam Action"? Or "Appsterdam Weekly Stand-up"?
+1 for "Appsterdam weekly standup"
+1 for "Appsterdam weekly standup"
This is in response to @mmeiborg's question about the weekly standup meeting we've been having over the past year and a half.
@mmeiborg: The standup meeting should be wherever the biggest number of Appsterdammers are, which is usually outside the lecture. Over the past couple months, it's usually just you and I, sometimes with Matteo, creating an insular organization which is exactly what we're trying to move away from with opening operations to GitHub. And so: what's the value in these meetings if people don't show up? Will people begin attending again if we stop calling it a "management team" meeting? How can we open up the meeting so that it's more "Town Hall" style?
