Housewarming party #29

This Friday I'm planning a housewarming party at A Lab. I've already spoken with Anne from Codum and he or Michelle will be around to give people a tour of the building. I'll put the event on Meetup and Anne will also invite the other tenants in the building.

I'm thinking 17:00-20:00 would be a good time since there are people in the room who are renting space and I'd rather not disturb them in the middle of the day while they're working. :)

The housewarming can also be a chance for people to share their hopes for this place--what they want it to be. I can put up large pieces of paper on the walls for people to write down their wishes. We can also have a sign-up sheet for people to volunteer to be the key-holder.

There are still decorations leftover from the birthday party so we can use those around the room.

Food and drinks: What do you guys think of having it be potluck style? I'll ask Anne if they can help with beer, and we can pay for some pizzas, but the rest can be provided by others. Is that a good idea?

Just learned that this weekend is Lowlands, I think some people will be going to that so maybe postpone for another week?

I wouldn't mind postponing. It also gives us more time to get RSVPs.

Potluck can be a hassle for people on a Friday night, especially if they're coming straight from work, etc. (And then we're likely to get mainly a bunch of cookies and chips picked up from AH.)

What if we asked for a 2-3 euro donation to help cover the pizza?

Or maybe Softlayer would want to sponsor. We haven't done something with them for awhile. If you think that's a good idea, I will ask Anna.

I will be out of NL this Firday, so for me it would definitely be better to postpone it.

By using milestones we can group and monitor progress on specific topics. You can assign a milestone when creating a new issue.
