What is that? Can you create a description of that in the events folder, or maybe in a "events we wish existed" section of the Wiki?
@judykitteh, who doesn't have her computer, said:
Hristo Hristov also expressed interest in this. I don't know his GitHub handle.
She also asked:
Would people understand it better if we called Peer Review?
It's less about review and more about being able to ask questions and get someone to look at your problem. More like WWDC labs than peer review.
(I typo'd the original title, it's meant to be "office hours".)
We can try this out Saturday Morning. We can use the Coffee Room on Kinkerstraat sort of near Bax. People will just need to buy coffee and stuff while they're there. @ratkins can you do it then? I linked Hristo to this issue too so knows.
If it's meant to be a lab, maybe we should call it Appsterdam Open Lab? I know it's not the most important thing, but we should try to name things in a way that is more obvious than clever.
That sounds fine to me.

Discussed with @ribeto (Hristo). We will run Appsterdam Open Lab Saturday morning at 9am. I will talk with the owner to the Coffee Room on Kinkerstraat where I would like to have it later today to make sure there are no problems with us showing up Saturday. Now we just need to decide on what to write in the event description.
I think it should mention the things people could ask questions about:
I'm down with open lab too. The idea I had in mind was to call it Peer hours, indicating that we are just a bunch of people on equal footing trying to help each other solve problems. Office hours to me mean more that there is an authoritative figure who has the answer.
@sgoodwin we should keep it more broad then just iOS/Mac dev we need to see if some of the Android folks are down for this as well. I think something in the lines of:
Stop by and get some help developing your mobile app. Bring your laptop and power and hack with fellow appsterdams helping each other solve hard problems.
Sure, but if only iOS guys are for sure there, I'd hate for a bunch of new android devs to show up and get no answers.

how to use git/github objective-c testing on ios/osx performance on ios/osx — Reply to this email directly or view it on GitHub.
Then it'd be a good idea to invite Raul, or any of the other senior Android devs to be a lab volunteer.

Yeah, 9-11 is about what we're thinking. And I move fast when I need to be somewhere ;)
I do think we should invite Raul (what's his GH handle?). I'll contact him.
this is my GH handle
Here's what I would write in the description for the event, feel free to poke holes in it:
Come join Appsterdammers for a cup of coffee and a chance to ask questions or talk about the problems you're facing in your projects. Bring a laptop, meet other devs, and find someone who can sit down with your code and help you out with the problem you're facing. If you'd like to just come and answer questions for people, bring your laptop and maybe get some work done if no one asks you questions.
Nicely put @sgoodwin
If no one has any objections or other comments, I'll post the event to meetup later today after 5pm.
Other name suggestions besides "Appsterdam Open Lab"
Checked with the lady who runs the coffee room. When she finished laughing, she said it would be fine for us to come!
Haha right on!

Each week we choose a theme, and assemble a group of soon-to-be-experts help you with that theme.
Or any other problem. All platforms welcome. We might not be able to help, but maybe you can.
This weeks theme: GitHub
I like it. I wouldn't bother with a theme.
:+1:
I'll be there if you need some Android flavour.
Loek!
Event scheduled. Can someone tweet it from the Appsterdam account?
@sgoodwin I've just texted you the pw for the Appsterdam Twitter account.
We can close this ticket now. The event worked great! Going to do it every week.
@sgoodwin has expressed an interest in running an Appsterdam "office hours" and I'm interested in participating, but we need to schedule a time, find a venue and publicise it.
