specialworld83 commented 7 years ago

Good morning, We are going to make the Apricity OS fork and rename it in Condres OS.

ghost commented 7 years ago

It's been nearly a month since posting your intent ! Are you able to share any details, as to the progress & or possible date of the NewOs.\ Like many, I look forward to the development of this Os under it's new development team & wish you success in this venture !

ghost commented 7 years ago

Thanks, Unfortunately it's to technical for me. It may sound like I'm asking a bit much, I don't suppose you could YouTube it, so we could follow. I don't have that level of skill. I contributed a lot in both the Apricity forum & on gitter . I would love to help a lot more.

@specialworld83 I've been overly optimistic about your fork, but the screenshots look like Antergos or Arch +Gnome+Arc now :disappointed:

specialworld83 commented 7 years ago

Now release theme Mac and icon flat remix

dvorapa commented 7 years ago

I like previous transparent theme and numix circle icons. I think I'll change from Apricity to something new

specialworld83 commented 7 years ago

We will try to leave both the icons and the theme unchanged. We want to collaborate with the former community of Apricity

can someone upload it elsewhere? i can never download it completly. @specialworld83

dvorapa commented 7 years ago

Me too, the website is somehow too laggy

habutre commented 7 years ago

I only could see simple message about the new distro/release and a blink and/or flicking donate. In fact I'm not so confident about the future and maintenance of our old Apricity OS, till now I'll keep with my out dated repositories without find any exciting distro to replace it.

It seems to me Condres went its own way of changing OSX-like appearance of Apricity OS to Win-like appearance and Gray-ish Gnome appearance.

Meanwhile I managed to reconstruct 90 % of Apricity appearance and functions using any Arch + Gnome distro (or just clean Arch with Gnome installed on top of it) together with some Gnome extensions or packages from AUR:

Gnome extensions:

Gnome theme:

Basic Arch/AUR packages:

Looks like: snimek z 2018-03-04 10-42-56 snimek z 2018-03-04 10-43-53

The only thing I could not manage to return back is zsh appearance in terminal :( any suggestions?

I wish there would be anybody who knows how to package all of these into an iso live/install image

Hi there, and wow! I am REALLY late to joining the party! I just thought I would drop by and congratulate the enormous work done by the Condres OS devs here. You guys have made an extremely sleek, effective, and refined OS! I love your work, and your goal in general.

I also wanted to get the opportunity to let those like @dvorapa know that we are Reborn OS (I'm the lead dev for it) have recreated the original APricity experience as an option in our installer. While Condres' code is MUCH closer to the original Apricity, our design remains looking very similar to how Apricity originally appeared. If anyone is interested in it, feel free to drop on by our website (https://reborn-os.weebly.com) or watch our Apricity experience in action here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xR5BeK3RASE

All in all, have a great day and to the team of Condres OS - best of luck! You guys are doing something truly amazing in the OpenSource community :)

dvorapa commented 5 years ago

@keeganmilsten Seems pretty close to the original Apricity look, amazing! For my customers this looks like good alternative to Antergos and others. Where are you guys coming from? (I mean what projects apart from Reborn we know you for?) Basic function equipment and basic looks of some desktop environments on your website reminds me some other similar projects...

keeganmilsten commented 5 years ago

Apart from Reborn? Well, I started the Antergos Community Editions in 2017 - from which Reborn OS later came into being. But truthfully, Reborn is pretty much my first serious development venture as far as Operating Systems go, so I don't know how much I can really offer as far as other projects. If you are interested in giving us a try though, I can say we have a great supportive community that is ready to help when needed :) . But I would hate to hijack this thread regarding Condres OS, so if you would like more info, I can open up a new Issue here about Reborn's Apricity.

The Condres operating system has the apricity theme by default, only the theme Condres Icons has been renamed to Condres Artic.
