Hi! I knew the day would come when someone would request this.
I think before any major update like the addition of horizontal timelines there would definitely need to be an update of the range system
It's very inaccurate right now and doesn't provide any numerical information, so your suggestion of adding an axis makes a lot of sense.
I'm very much inclined to develop this feature but this will take a whole bunch of time and I got a few other things I would like done before tackling this behemoth
Again, I really appreciate the time you took to write this. In the meantime I hope you'll still find some use out of aat
Alright, I hope to see this feature one day, but I understand why it can't be implemented yet. Thank you for developing this plugin, I'm excited to see how it will grow!
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. The vertical layout of the timeline makes it a bit difficult to fully understand the relationship of event ranges to other event ranges. This difficulty comes primarily from the fact that, the within this vertical layout, the event is the priority, not the range of time it takes up.
Describe the solution you'd like An option to render the timeline horizontally would help alleviate the aforementioned issue. In my mind, this layout would feature a sort of "axis" or meter on the bottom that show reference dates. Above this "axis" would be the event ranges. Along with that, the event cards would be hidden until their respective range is hovered over in order to promote readability. Attached is an example layout from another plugin that I believe would work well.
