Random idea I had: deprecation messages shown to users with the deprecated script enabled could be customizable, and this could be used to use the deprecation feature on a temporary basis to hide scripts that we know don't work from new users until their functionality is restored. Also makes #1216 less silly.
Probably would deserve some reworking of the internal term "deprecated," though. limitedAccess? Eh.
