Dear netboot.me team,

your offer is fantastic, have many many thanks.

What I'd consider missing is a closer link with the communities providing the isos. Well, maybe you have them and those just are not discussed on the respective -developer mailing lists. You won't go for Knoppix, because it is too large, but http://www.damnsmalllinux.org/ should be doable and with it your closer ties to Debian (and Ubuntu with it). Those stronger ties would most likely be positive for both sides ... and why not dedicate a little monthly award for the best patch to further reduce the size of some images?

Then, please describe your images a bit more, please. For instance I just want to save a few files from an infected Windows machine before flattening it, but i could not be sure with what image to boot in to read the foreign file system. Now I am stuck with the slowest possible connection to slitaz.org .... maybe there would have been an alternative.

Please keep on your good work

Steffen

Hi,

Good point about interacting with distro communities. Unfortunately, I really haven't had much time to work on netboot.me lately, and that may not change in the near future.

Would there be an honest young (or old or any-aged) unemployed individual at your local agency waiting for an opportunity to prove his/her skills (i.e. his/her skill to learn) and jump to higher grounds? I know, this also takes considerable time of yours, but it may pay off. Maybe you can find two, so they can discover things together. It will take them 20-100 times longer than it would take you, but with you having 1/100th of their time ... please consider giving it a try.

I don't have a local agency. netboot.me is an open source project and a part-time creation of mine; my day job is at Google.
