This week I will be messing with the bookcases so that the prefab works correctly. We ran into a problem where the collision mesh is way too big when we try and update to a new Unity Asset store asset so this will be essential to gameplay. Its important to update this so that the collision works correctly with the AI and the Player. I will also add some more assets into the scene that have better textures/prefabs. This is important to the gameplay so that there is no blank space.
Visualization
Here is a picture of a Multiplayer First Person Shooter game where you can see multiple shipping containers of different colors. These are examples of prefabs that have nicer textures and are more thought out then the ones I have in my scene. I want to make my bookcases look better so that it doesn't look so much like a gray boxed scene.
What is needed to implement the task?
Our new unity asset store assets are needed to make the prefabs work correctly. Knowledge of how to update prefabs through the mesh collider/mesh renderer is essential in this weeks progress. Since I am working with one of my classmates on the same scene this week I will need to collaborate on when we are each going to add things to the project.
What is the biggest risk it will not get done?
The biggest risk is the editing of the prefabs themselves. I am not the greatest at prefab knowledge but I know just enough to where I think I will be able to complete this weeks work correctly. If I can't figure out how to do something I will collaborate with my group on how to solve my prefab errors.
Test case
For Prefabs:
1) Start the Game 2) The player interacts with the prefabs 3) There are no collision errors
For Assets:
1) Start the Game 2) Player can see new assets in play space 3) Player interacts with assets correctly
