A simple blocklet that can display slideshow, or certain content, easy customize, easy compose with conference website, majorly use for public display, e.g. a TV screen with Chromecast.
Simple version can just be static pages that take configurations. Advanced version could allow admin or users "push" content to it. Or automatically pull information from social media (e.g. twitter or instagram with hashtags)
