X2 Multi Files (Not Nikos) - Folder Format Issues? #8

Open EVAWINGZERO opened 4 years ago

EVAWINGZERO commented 4 years ago

I have the Yoko image up and running on my X3. All of the menus are working, the preview movies work, etc.

I copied over all of the files from my X2 multi to my laptop, but not sure on how they are supposed to be set up on the X3 SSD.

There is only 1 folder regarding games on one of the 3 partitions, and it's labelled Nesica Live.

When trying to copy a games files over (ikaruga as an example) I copied all of the files in my X2 folder for Ikaruga, over to the Ikaruga folder on the X3 Img (Didn't overwrite anything) but when I select the game on the menu, it just backs me out to the main menu after a few seconds.

Same thing is happening with USF4 and others.

As for X and X2 games, do I need different folders to go with those on the same level as the Nesica folder?

I'm new to this, so thanks in advance!

To add, some games bring me to a Black Screen (Never loads, and just hangs) others kick me back to the menu.

Have you read through #4 its got a lot of information regarding where to put the roms etc, worth a read.

I don't have my ttx3 yet, nor have I ever used a ttx2 multi.

That being said, if this is anything like normal attract mode, I can see the following in the Nesica.cfg

E:\NESiCAxLive\Games\NESiCAxLive

Also the following under TTX.cfg

E:\NESiCAxLive\Games\TTX

I am assuming, if you were to create a folder called TTX in the location E:\NESiCAxLive\Games\ and then remove the # from the romlist, you'd be able to see the video preview, but I'm not sure what's required to get the game to work just yet. My experience is all on PC attact mode

That is mostly correct.

In order to get TTX games to show on the AM game select screen, no need to create any folders. Although you will need to do that to get the games to load.

In order to get TTX games to show in AM, remove the # from the romlist, then you will need to create a "TTX filter". I'm not very familiar with the AM, but while the machine is running you can enter the settings and add the filter there. There is already one for Nesica, so I would take a look at that one and use that as your reference. On the game select screen you can toggle through the filters with buttons B or C, there you will see your TTX game filter listed with the games you have added.

In order to actually load the TTX games will require a little more work: I did the following with BlazBlue ContinuumShift and it worked for me.

First create the respective TTX folder in "E:\NESiCAxLive\Games\TTX". In the newly created TTX folder you will need to transfer a copy of any one of the Nesica game folders that came preloaded with the TTX3Multi, this will have the needed files to launch and run the game (dllinject, FastIOS.dll & Launch). Go ahead and delete the iDmacDrv32.dll file as that is not needed with non-nesica games. Then change that folder name to match the name of the game you are adding, make sure folder name matches the exact name on the romlist. Next copy and paste over a batch file from the Nesica folder over to your newly created TTX folder and rename the batch file to the same game name as the game folder you created. Then use a script editor to access the batch file and change the game name to the appropriate game name. Last but not least make a copy of the cmd.exe in your Nesica Folder and paste that to your TTX folder.

In your TTX folder you should now have a game folder, game batch file and cmd.exe. Go ahead and transfer your game files into your newly created game folder. Do not copy over or replace the, previously included the three files.

Boot up and your TTX game should be listed under the TTX filter and ready to launch. Only issue I came across was that the game exit feature doesn't work (hold A, B, C, D & Start to Exit Game) on the newly added TTX games. Anyone know how to add that feature in???

Appreciate the help. I will be messing with this this week and report back. I saw some folks even got SFV running on the X3 multi, so I'm hoping to figure that one out as well.

Thanks for sharing these information with everyone. I already had quite a bunch of TTX Games working on my side too (about 8 iirc) if you ever get DeathSmiles 2 working, I would like to hear how you solved that one.

Take a look at the Tate image to see how the game exit works on TTX2 games. :)

Any insight on what kind of file I'm looking for or drive/folder to look on the TATE image?

Thanks, any furthers tips or info is greatly appreciated 😁

TypeX3Mod commented 4 years ago

TTX2 doesn't use iDmacdrv32.dll so JVS controls are native. dllinject.exe injects the "FastIO.dll" into the game.exe to enable the exit combination. :)

ArcadeHustle commented 3 years ago

FastIO you say? https://github.com/ArcadeHustle/X3_Multi_Eye_for_an_Eye/issues/11#issuecomment-729825310
