The example notebooks currently in plot_testing/ should be moved to an examples/ directory.
The current examples/ directory contains PDF files generated by the usage_examples.ipynb notebook. We (DS and KC) discussed offline and agreed these don't need to be in the repo but can instead be moved to a gitignore'd directory like notebook_outputs/ for the user to manually inspect.
