It's a deliberate choice. If you don't give a name to the clipping plane in Rhino it gets the auto name "Clipping Plane" so they are all named the same. I could look for elements called that, but they are called something else if you use a different language in Rhino, so for now it's not possible to detect whether someone has given it a name or if it is the default unnamed name. I then opted for naming by the index for now.
Deliberate thereby not an issue. I Think we should be able to name them, i was reported that the indexes sometimes change. This could also be because just a case of false perception since numbering is not easily remembered in cases of many clipping planes.
The name of a clipping plane is not taken into the clipping component, this makes it difficult to know which to activate in the component.
