Colour-shift in Qt apps since x2go 4.1 #680

Since 4.1 I have noticed strange colour shifts in Qt applications. For example, Qupzilla:

farbplatten

The "Image Viewer" window with the screenshot of Qupzilla shows the UI it as it should be but the rendered page colours wrong, and beneath that window is how Qupzilla appears without a screenshot is in progress [taken outside of the session].

Another subtle difference is that the fonts look a bit 'smeared' with a sort of coloured halo.

A workaround suggested on IRC was to add

X2GO_NXAGENT_DEFAULT_OPTIONS+=" -extension GLX"

to /etc/x2go/x2goagent.options and this seems to work.

x2go: 4.1.0.0-3 qupzilla : 2.2.5~dfsg1-1 Qt: 5.9.2+dfsg-12

also happens on my test build of nxagent-3.5.99-10 with mesa 7.7 included

the url of the page shown in the screenshot is https://wiki.selfhtml.org/wiki/Grafik/Farbpaletten#Farbnamen

X2GO_NXAGENT_DEFAULT_OPTIONS+=" -extension GLX" seems not to be a fix, actually. I made the change, tested it by starting a new session as a new user and the colour shift issue was not present. I assumed that meant I had found a fix, but what I have actually found is that a fresh user account doesn't have the issue. So now it seems like the issue is actually caused by something in the user's profile, but what?

But me and sunweaver see the colour problems, too.

Nope, I couldn't reproduce them here... Neither with stretch nor buster...
