Pinnacles wants us to use Pinnacles National Park for their associated Accession and Catalog numbers, hence the request to change it in the Identifiers drop-down menu

Goal
From @jrdemboskihttps://github.com/jrdemboski
In the drop-down menu for Identifiers, can we change Pinnacle National Monument to Pinnacle National Park?
https://www.nps.gov/pinn/index.htm https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pinnacles_National_Park
they became a park in 2013 (after being a monument)
Context
We've kept those separate in the past, but I think where the park and the monument are different things. This seems to be a change, where the monument became the park.
We probably need a ...Park value, I'm not sure if it should be merged with ...Monument or not.

I suggest we add the Park value but leave the Monument for now - we may eventually want to know if stuff was actually collected in the Monument vs. the Park. You may want to track that as well. Did they ask you to make this change retroactively or just going forward?
add the Park value but leave the Monument
Certainly works for me; the first step will be adding, no matter what end result we're aiming for.
@atrox10 you have some of these - thoughts?
I added the other ID to the code table, however, there are a few other issues:
In Agents, we have Pinnacles National Park which references the name change, but I think we should have both with a relationship between them?
In Features (locality) we also have Pinnacles National Park, but not the national monument - does it matter?
Agents
"Change" suggests we don't need two. If they're different administrative entities (eg that we have to report to) then maybe we do.
Features
(geography) - don't care until someone with relevant data convinces us we need to.

Kinda what I thought - I added "Pinnacles National Monument" as an aka to Pinnacles National Park agent.

Fair enough, just trying to cover the bases.
Thank you!
Can these be merged or should they remain distinct?
This has a historical component since Pinnacles National Monument was what it was called from 1908-2013 and then it became a National Park. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pinnacles_National_Park So it might be relevant to keep the Monuments agents for permits that were made before it became a park (or whatever is associated with the Monument agent)?

Keep distinct and provide date information and provide guidance as to which to use.
@Nicole-Ridgwell-NMMNHS to check for White Sands
Both identifiers are included based upon the fact that identifying numbers may have come from one or the other. Definitions now include reference to each other and the dates applicable as discussed in today's code table committee.
