Change "record type" for cultural collections #5538

Closed AJLinn closed 1 year ago

AJLinn commented 1 year ago

In the new responsive catalog record page, the Record Type is listed in the top summary information. As part of our "de-specimening" process of Arctos for cultural collections, we request that all cultural objects be changed to Record Type: item

@sjshirar @krgomez Do you concur? I checked and your records also display Record Type: specimen

Yes! Thanks for bringing this up Angie, I noticed it too in the new catalog record interface. I’ve been changing the type to item whenever I’m in a record, but there should be a way for cultural collections to easily change the type from specimen to item for all our records without having to do it one by one.

Also, make sure that you have "item" selected as your default in Manage Collection.

@dustymc I just found a bunch that need changing too - All ACUNHC:Herp should be changed from "specimen" to "preserved specimen".

Sorry! and Thank you in advance!

sjshirar commented 1 year ago

Sorry I'm late to the party, but we'd like all UAM:Arc changed to "item" as well.

@sjshirar I can't update https://github.com/ArctosDB/arctos/issues/5554 - I can skip or we can do something there first?

ACUNHC:Herp: UPDATE 226 temp_acuh_h_cits.csv.zip

sjshirar commented 1 year ago

We can change those too when we remove the extra spaces.

@sjshirar just let me know if you want any SQLing anywhere in there. (I suspect you're checking for duplicates and such and I'd just make giant messes?)
