Opening a model triggers pop-up that is blocked #465

What is the problem?
Using recent browsers like Firefox and Chrome, opening a model via double-click 
from the model repository opens the model in a new window. In the default 
configuration, this new window is blocked by the browser's integrated pop-up 
blocker.

What should be done alternatively?
It should be possible to circumvent the pop-up blockers. 
If this is not feasible, one could detect that the pop-up has been blocked and 
inform the user about it. Otherwise, the user does not get feedback. If he does 
not check his browser for blocked pop-ups, he might think the editor is 
malfunctioning.
