Use as Universal_Wireless_Repeater ? #1

We wondered if this could be run as a Universal Wireless Repeater (ie https://wiki.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Universal_Wireless_Repeater https://www.amazon.com/VIXMINI-Pre-Installed-Repeater-Extender-Ethernet/dp/B07PWD3PQ5) such that it "just works" with any laptop/phone in range.

Our current topology is wireless GoPro > coax antenna > VIXMINI > laptop Similar to this http://paulillsley.com/GoPro_Underwater_Wi-Fi_Cable_Setup/ with an extender/repeater.

Hi @rjsdotorg Yes, its exactly what this repository is intender for, if you look at the Option 2 setup, you can set both interface as wireless, when using raspberry pi 3 or newer.
the Ansible role i've created should automatically detect if you connected an additional wifi dongle.

if you are looking for a solution to just set up the raspberry as an access_point without internet connection (so for example two clients ie a laptop and a gopro camera will be connected to the same network) its also possible, just implement the access point setup part,
you will not need an external wifi module for this if using raspberry pi 3 or newer.

you can also setup this using Ansible by execute line 15.
