I have the same issue. Mac OS 11.4, Firefox Version 89 (64 bit) with Mozilla Mix from CTB
Test recent pre releases. This issue should be gone. (At least it was in my tests ;-) )
@Aris-t2
Seems like there are some issue with Max tab Width....
It overlaps hard with long tab names.
Right now I don't habe any clue how to solve this.
The pre-Proton code has no effect:
.tab-label {
-moz-box-flex: 1 !important;
text-align: center !important;
}
This code breaks tabs with long tab titles.
@media (-moz-proton) {
* .tab-label-container {
display: flex !important;
justify-content: center !important;
}
}
None of the common rules seem to work:
.tab-label,
.tab-label-container {
text-align: center !important;
-moz-box-align: center !important;
-moz-box-pack: center !important;
}
The only thing, that actually did somethin was changing tab-label-container
nodes attribute [align="start"]
to [align="center"]
on DOM level, but this can not be achieved via CSS.
Open for ideas.
Hi Aris-t2,
I used your latest 3.2.1v2, and it fixed the issue. Now when the name shows, the close tab icon is not there. What I have been doing is using close under a sub menu (control+close selection) which works, but it seems that Mozilla adds road blocks along the way.
Unfortunately I have zero experience coding so I'm the last person to ask..
Keep up the excellent work, and thank you again for your fast response.

That is exactly the problem. The "fix" only worked for short tab titles properly. For now this feature is "broken".
.tab-label-container.proton { display: grid !important; justify-items: safe center !important; }
.tab-label { overflow: hidden !important; }
Seems to work properly with Proton enabled.
Credit and many thanks to @sean1138 in https://github.com/black7375/Firefox-UI-Fix/issues/71.
Thanks for the fix and pointing in the right direction.
For this also to work on Fx 91+ .tab-label-container.proton
has to be changed to .tab-label-container
.
@Aris-t2,
I'm glad I've been able to (slightly) reciprocate. Thank you for your ongoing work and kind help.
Please see the last comments in https://github.com/black7375/Firefox-UI-Fix/issues/71. It seems you'd need to add:
.tab-close-button
{
width: unset !important;
padding-inline-start: 7px !important;
}
I have to add slightly modified code to make it work with both classic squared and default tabs.
I'll be looking forward to that commit.
I think we can close this one now.
Describe the issue tab_title_centered.css seems to be not working for the latest Firefox
What should have happened instead? tab_title_centered.css should move tab title to the center
Steps to reproduce the issue? enable tab_title_centered.css Observe the result
