Resource Scaling/Difficulty Curve #19

How do we handle resource management/difficulty scaling? Do we just play around with how much resources the player starts with and run it against how much they consume with how many villagers they have? Is there an exponentially increasing difficulty/reward curve as they get bigger and build more buildings/recruit more villagers?

There are some better posts I used to have somewhere but I can't find them. This gives an idea of what I'm talking about though. the resource I wanted but
