Loud Buzzing and/or distortion since upgrade to OSX Mavericks #248

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Using AU lab with Output and Inputs set to Soundflower 2ch, but unable to 
get AU lab EQ to work
2. Very loud feedback/distortion and/or buzz though Macbook Air (Jan 2012) 
speakers
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Very loud feedback/distortion and/or buzz though Macbook Air (Jan 2012) speakers
Used to work fine in OSX Mountain Lion, but problem since Mavericks update. 
Took to Apple, thinking was soundcard fault - they replaced "Board, Logic, 1.8 
GHz, 8 GB" but same issue remains

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Soundflower 1.6.6b (same problems with 1.6.5) and OSX Mavericks 10.9.1

Please provide any additional information below.
Deleted and reinstalled AU lab and Soundflower. rebooted after all changes but 
same problem
