Repositories reconciliation #117

Where are we with the reconciliation of the repositories? There are still several errors and duplicates in the platform

The reconciliation of the repositories will be visible with the new update of data that will be published next week.

Hi spyros. We need to have a call about this. We reconciled the repositories using wikidata as we said. But the result set is really small because of non standardization on the way the institutions are described in the legacy data. We use the rule that the name has to be the same and also the country of the institution has to be the same, which results to less than 10 matching for VIT for example.

Here comes the same question that we have faced many times before. Should we soften the rules and allow false positives or we should have strict rules and decrease completion?

Reconciliation of repositories will be facilitated by the instance matching GUI.

hey guys, the instance matching will not resolve the issue of linking to external sources for repositories. I think we should have an interface to be able to look up these institutions in wikidata/viaf etc.

let's talk about it at the reconciliation meeting

The uffizi example above still returns several results, hinting to an incomplete reconciliation.

Some inconsistency is also observable between display results, the map having numbers not related to the results. I searched 'uffizi' on this page https://artresearch.net/resource/DisplayPharosInstitutions and got nine results. the map shows 55 + 30 in two different locations.
