Calibration hangs on ZTE Blade

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Download APK from 
https://code.google.com/p/speakerproximity/downloads/detail?name=SpeakerProximit
y_v.0.3.5beta.apk
2. Run it on the device, install, choose «Open» in post-install dialogue
3. App runs, shows the Screenshot 1, then nothing happens.
4. Press «Back». Animation plays as app screen closes and re-opens, then it 
shows the Screenshot 1 again.
5. Reboot. 
6. Launch app manually. It shows Screenshot 2.
7. No matter what you do with the sensor, app won't respond and numbers on 
screen won't change.
8. Press «Back». Animation plays as app screen closes and re-opens, then it 
shows the Screenshot 1.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected: Completed calibration process and an working app.
Instead: Frozen calibration screen, app doesn't function at all.

What version of the product are you using? On what ROM?
SpeakerProximity_v.0.3.5beta.apk
CyanogenMod 7.1 on ZTE Blade

Please provide any additional information below.
