[Z3Link] Paddling #117

The animation for when you press B while swimming and Link paddles to move faster seems to be missing. This is important as it uses unique tiles for his hands.

Can you identify which tiles are being used in this animation?

Artheau commented 2 years ago

It was my understanding that the animation tiles are not unique, but instead that the appearance of the breast stroke animation returns to the arms extended each time the player pumps the swim button. Is there evidence that this is different?

P-Star7 commented 2 years ago

These tiles appear to be unique: https://www.spriters-resource.com/snes/legendofzeldaalinktothepast/sheet/7584/ Though I'm having trouble finding them on SpriteSomething's tile sheet.

miketrethewey commented 2 years ago

Which tiles in particular are you referencing from the Spriters' Resource sheet?

Artheau commented 2 years ago

I think you're referring to J5 and P0. The 8x8 tiles for the hands are located two squares above the zap image, and the 8x8 tiles for the ripples at the end of his stroke are two squares left of his death image. If you want to see the assembled images like what they show in spriters-resource, you can select the swim animation, choose a direction and zoom level, and then "export as horizontal collage". Do you see any images missing from the collage? You should see the hands in there in the correct places.
