Textractor hooking only (%d%s)

Greetings, first time using Textractor but it has turned into quite the chore for something supposed to be so simple ha! Basically the only thing I can get hooked is this random syntax image. I can't seem to find anybody with a similar issue it feels as though something fundamental is being missed. I've tried adjusting my region, installing the windows japanese language pack, reinstalling C++ package, ensuring the Unicode font that came with it is installed. The search function also seems to be quite dysfunctional as no matter what hook search I query it will return no results. I know it's a long shot but if anyone has any ideas you'd be my hero..
