Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. AP is representative of your character's time, but sometimes you need to perform actions on YOUR time that are prohibited by your AP, such as needing to get an action in by a certain date or only being able to RP with someone at X time but not necessarily having the AP to share a clue. This can be pretty frustrating or set up some awkward situations where a clue share needs to happen days later, assuming people remember.

Describe the solution you'd like

I think it would be a simple and elegant solution if we could spend our weekly AP gain on certain coded actions if we would be unable to perform them with our current AP. You would then not receive that amount of AP on the next cron.

IMO it would be important for this to only apply to certain coded commands that are time sensitive or involve IC interactions, rather than things like work rolls and haggling. I think a lot of players splurge on those quickly. The ones I have in mind are @investigate, @helpinvestigate, @action/setaction and @clue/share.

If there is concern about abuse, it could have a staggered interest, like instead of getting your full amount after two weeks you might only get 80% of what was spent. It could also be disabled around staff breaks to prevent people from piling in everything at once.

Describe alternatives you've considered Big and colorful bolded text that pops up whenever you try to enter a work or haggle roll, asking if you're REALLY sure Monday is the best time to plow through all your available AP, because you can honestly just wait... okay, no, you can't, doing that is really addictive. This would not work, no pun intended.

Another issue that ought to be taken into consideration is that crafted items should be capped, so folks don't hoard AP and then try to dump ~500 AP into getting a massive perfect roll on something.

Otherwise, I rather agree it's worth looking in to.
