LinuxDroid on a Chromebook errors #14

I'm not sure if it's even possible to run LinuxDroid on a Chromebook but I'm trying & failing. ;-)

I am using a 'Framework Laptop Chromebook Edition' which employs the 'brya' board (Intel 12th gen i5) and Android version 13.

I've installed Termux and the LinuxDroid scripts plus I installed the following packages:

proot proot-distro tsu fakeroot parted

But when I try to run LinuxDroid.sh & select 'Manjaro' or any other distro I get the following 'proot' errors:

making start-manjaro.sh executable
fixing permissions for manjaro
manjaro-fs/root/xfce4_de.sh: No such file or directory
manjaro-xfce.sh: line 75: manjaro-fs/etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist: No such file or directory
manjaro-xfce.sh: line 87: manjaro-fs/etc/resolv.conf: No such file or directory
manjaro-fs/usr/local/bin/vncserver-start: No such file or directory
manjaro-fs/usr/local/bin/vncserver-stop: No such file or directory
mkdir: cannot create directory ‘manjaro-fs/root/.vnc’: No such file or directory
manjaro-fs/root/.vnc/xstartup: No such file or directory
chmod: cannot access 'manjaro-fs/usr/local/bin/vncserver-stop': No such file or directory
chmod: cannot access 'manjaro-fs/usr/local/bin/vncserver-start': No such file or directory
manjaro-xfce.sh: line 111: manjaro-fs/root/.bash_profile: No such file or directory
proot warning: can't sanitize binding "manjaro-fs/root": No such file or directory
proot warning: can't chdir("/root/.") in the guest rootfs: No such file or directory
proot info: default working directory is now "/"
proot error: '/usr/bin/env' not found (root = /data/data/com.termux/files/home/manjaro-fs, cwd = /, $PATH=(null))
fatal error: see `proot --help`.
Press Enter to continue...

I looked at proot help but it was no help, for me at least. So I'm curious if there's a 'fix' for this or should I just give up trying to run LinuxDroid on a Chromebook ???

Thanx in advance, -DennisLfromGA

AryanVBW commented 3 weeks ago

create separate documentation files for Chrome OS and Chromium OS, providing instructions for each. Additionally, create a distinct web page for this content.
