Unable to restore OSX after removing the Asahi #135

Hi there,

I'm in the process of removing Linux from my system, and I typically start by wiping all partitions and starting fresh. However, I'm encountering some issues this time.

When I entered recovery mode to remove the partitions, I was able to delete most of them, but the last one gave me an error: "The volume on disk0 couldn’t be unmounted because it is in use by process 0 (kernel)." This error appears whether I use Disk Utility or the diskutil command from the terminal. I've tried various combinations, including attempting to force the wipe, but without success. Additionally, I can't create a new partition from the empty space due to another error.

Here's what I see when trying to erase the disk:

And another error I encounter:

I've also tried using Apple Configurator by connecting two Macs, but that resulted in a different error: "Can't restore device in this state - please reboot into Recovery or DFU."

I am also not able to perform a reinstall from the USB, as the installer does not detect the hard drive.

At this point, I'm unable to run either Linux or macOS, and I'd like to return to macOS.

Could you please recommend any solutions?

Thank you in advance for your help!

I managed to fix the disk by performing a DFU restore twice, as inspired by this post https://www.reddit.com/r/applehelp/comments/mvsx16/i_think_i_broke_my_macbook_tried_to_erase_no/
