Encryption is per APFS container, so Linux encryption would be separate from macOS encryption.
Yes. You can do that with LUKS for the Linux root partition
Or ZFS, presumably?
There's an issue for this that you can track https://github.com/AsahiLinux/asahi-installer/issues/137
They link to a third-party guide you can use for now: https://davidalger.com/posts/fedora-asahi-remix-on-apple-silicon-with-luks-encryption/
Full or home? I was about to replicate the setup that Mint LXDE provides as I, for instance, don't wanna be bothered by keyboard typing at bootstrap
How do you do encrypted root? The tutorial linked above doesn't feature encrypted root at https://davidalger.com/posts/fedora-asahi-remix-on-apple-silicon-with-luks-encryption/#:~:text=LUKS%20Setup%20(-,non%2Dencrypted%20boot,-%2C%20encrypted%20root).
Has there been a misunderstanding? I see "encrypted root" in title:
Or maybe you're looking for encrypted boot?
Sorry, I meant encrypted boot, yes @tombh
Do there exist instructions to have an Asahi Linux installation (Arch, Fedora remix, or otherwise) that uses full disk encryption, in a way that preserves the machine's original macOS?
