A Pokemon's Category is determined by the combination of its two types. Any "aggressive" type gives +1 to category score, any "passive" type gives -1 to category score, and "neutral" contributes +0. If the final category score is > 0, the Pokemon is "Aggressive", if the final category score is < 0, the Pokemon is "Passive", and in all other cases the Pokemon is "Neutral".
The battle tracks a "favor score" for the Pokemon, which starts at 0. This will decrease or increase depending on the option selected and the Pokemon's Category (Aggressive/Passive/Neutral).
The same option can never be selected twice in a row
After 4 turns, if the Pokemon's favor is increased by +3 or greater, it is calmed and offers to join your team
If your favor is -3 or worse, the Pokemon is thrown into a frenzy and you enter a "real" battle against it where it only has 2/5 boss health bars remaining (catch available)
If the Pokemon's favor is between -3 and +3, it is calmed down. However, you did not impress it in any significant way and it departs (no catch). It leaves behind 3 Rogue tier items in the rewards.

Explanation/Notes on Design
A design effort to evoke more “emotion” and the feeling of a bond with the boss (as well as being a puzzle). Here's the breakdown on boss spawn chances:
50% Rare - These bosses also know every starter egg move
35% Super Rare - These bosses have 2/4 starter egg moves
15% Ultra Rare - These bosses have 1/4 starter egg moves
If there is no biome boss in that tier, it spawns in next tier down, looping (so if no Rare > spawn Ultra Rare).
