I don't have the regions unexplored but I am using twilight forest.

I've just installed Regions Unexplored I got the exact same crash in a snowy biome.
This bug only appear once. Your file will crash. Unless you uninstall Oculus, you can't enter in any way. I suggest you rebuild the world and test it again. By the way, is your twilighforest the latest version?(I tried to update twilightforest and rebuild the world, but I didn't seem to encounter this bug? Maybe I didn't reproduce this bug.)

I don't have twilight forest installed, and I couldn't reproduce the crash.
It looks like this bug will only happen when twilight forest is installed and snow biome is rendered.

I reproduce it the crash,When you have a long distance tp in Snowbome, you will always crash,This is so frustrating
I had another long look today and the only places I can reproduce it is in the ones mentioned above. Thought maybe it was a particle thing but I downloaded some rubidium tools and turned off animations, and particle effects. Same tree no matter where it is in my world and anywhere in twilight forest.

Everyone, if you install ImmersiveFX mod, you will have this problem. I uninstalled ImmersiveFX mod, and saved can enter normally!

Same, it caused an intital crash loading the client had to delete it, save the world and re-install and now no issues.

Well, that seems toe be it. I can crash it when using dynamic surroundings and oculus, but not either alone. Its good but terrible news because dynamic surroundings reforged is an awesome mod.
might be some overlapping settings? May try turning off some of what DS is trying do see if we can prevent crashing.
It's been quite a while but are there any updates regarding this issue or do we just have to choose between sounds or performance?
(Edit: Also I'm having this crash without twilight forest installed, Instead was around a guardian farm doing things when a friend started farming levels the crash occured)

So I was able to resolve this by removing dynamic surroundings from the mod folder and then starting your world as normal. After successfully loading your world and mod pack save and exit. Place the dynamic surroundings mod back in your mod folder and try again. Running a mod pack for the first time with Dynamic surroundings in the folder seems to crash things.

Reproduction Steps
MC 1.18 Forge 4.2.0
In areas generated by oh the biomes you'll go (BYG), areas heavy in trees spawned by BYG (witch hazel and zelakova tree) the game crashes. This same crash occurs when walking around in the twilight forest. For both this occurs after walking around for a little less than 5 min. Areas without BYG trees "witch hazel" seem to be unaffected.
If oculus is removed this crash does not occur.
Rotating different shaders and resource packs do not have an effect on the error.
Crash log mentions nothing about BYG but does mention Twilight forest.
UPDATE 2/5/23: The problem seems to be concentrated in the BYG biome "Twilight meadow" which has a firefly-like particle effect and contains a tree called a "witch hazel". Anywhere on the map if within 3 chunks of these trees or I start breaking witch hazel logs or leaves this will cause a crash, the same $$13 is null. Speaking of particles I see in the notes mention of this $$13 is null error and a particle effects setting around the time of occulus 1.2.5 and a change to 1.2.5b? I hope this information is helpful! Cant thank you enough this mod is absolutely fantastic!
