WMP is always 32-bit, even on a 64-bit OS.
Also, what does "but it is using directshow" mean, LAV is a DirectShow filter,
there is no way to use it without it. :p

I set the default player to 64bit version. But with the 32bit version it's the
same problem. What I mean with ffdshow and directshow is that I tried to use
only the splitter and let wmp do the deconding. no lav video and no lav audio
decoder. it works most of the time, at least the video. I wanted to see if
there is a problem with lav video decoder or is just the splitter.
What I found is that I can use wmp12 with matroska spliter and lav video/audio
decoder. Also I can use lav splitter with ffdshow and it works. But when I use
lavsplitter with lav video/audio decoder I have "only images".

I cannot reproduce any problems.
I have a basically untouched 2008 r2 server which didn't have any other filters
installed. I installed LAV 0.45 via the installer, and played some "normal" mkv
file (H264+AC3), and it plays just fine.

I think I found something. The only mkv files that play have the following
profile High@L4.1 (cabac/4 ref frames)
the rest are High@L4.1 (cabac/5 ref frames) or L5.1
This maybe happening because I have an radeon 5750.

I found the issue, it seems to be related to files having subtitles.
Working on a fix.
