Options to assign color matrix in YUV->RGB conversion #91

I have come across a lot of video files, taken from HD source ( such as
blue-ray or HDTV ), downscaled and re-encoded to SD resolution ( such as
852*480 or 1024*576 ), while keeping color space untouched. These video files
often don't flag color matrix in the video stream. In this scenario, auto
detection based on resolution will give incorrect color matrix. I know this
situation is all due to the encoder's bad practice, but this situation does
exist, and it is rather widespread IMO. So I hope you could add options to
manually assign color matrix ( BT.601 or BT.709 ) in YUV->RGB conversion.
Regards.

I really wanted to avoid such an option, because who really wants to change an
option for every file you play?

Rather go ahead and bitch-slap the encoder. Its not even required to change the
color space, just set the header info. :(

Anyhow, its quite possible such an option might appear in a future version.

Would like to second this.

Also it would be very good if you could have some kind of status which could
show what was currently used for the file being played.
