Well forcibly installing useless themes, wallpaper and user account images is kind of like installing bloatware which is the opposite of what this project is trying to achieve. Also, it is very annoying to have wallpaper and user image changed after every install. But anyways I do support the decision by the devs and I know can fork it whenever I need. A wonderful project :)

What atlas does:
How very intrusive. It's not like you could change any of these on your own or anything. (It's also a great way of telling people the playbook worked)
Atlas isn't providing bloat by changing some windows settings like wallpaper and user icon, you can change those are Asterisk said above. Bloat typically meaning something that is hard to get rid of, Atlas' resources are really easy to get rid of. I don't even know why you'd consider a wallpaper and user icon bloat? Also, Atlas isn't made to get rid of bloat, it's made to get more performance out of your system, removing bloat can help with that because some of the bloat we remove just runs in the background. A couple megabytes for 2 photos though is really not going to cause a performance decrease. There is no need to complain.
Yeah I am fine with the changes as I said just that they happen everytime. And yeah the indication of successful application is a good point and thus I wanted it to be optional. No problem anyways, I will just change them everytime I apply/update the playbook. As you said nothing that intrusive.
The next Atlas release will support upgrading from v0.4 without a Windows reinstall. Upgrades will not overwrite user preferences, such as their current wallpaper.
However, any previous releases have required a complete Windows reinstall to upgrade from an older version of Atlas, so the Atlas wallpaper shouldn't inconvenience you as on the fresh Windows install, you'd change from the default Windows wallpaper anyways.
