Referencing born-KeyBase keys #10

The metadata for KeyBase keys is predicated on the keys existing in a source and being uploaded from there to KeyBase. This flows through to citation of the keys.

An increasing class of keys will be created for and first published in KeyBase. We need a suitable metadata set and citation style to reflect these.

We have three types of keys in KeyBase:

  1. Keys lifted from another source, unmodified
  2. Keys lifted from another source, and (lightly) modified
  3. Keys born-KeyBase (includes keys originally from another source, but so heavily modified that they are effectively born-KeyBase {reborn-KeyBase?})

Suggest the following forms of citation for these:

1 (unmodifed key): Jessup, L.W. (1982). Flacourtiaceae [key only]. In: Thiele, K.R. (ed). Flowering Plants of Australia. KeyBase: http://keybase.rbg.vic.gov.au/keys/show/6544 [Accessed: 12-12-2016].

2 (modified key): Jessup, L.W. (1982). Flacourtiaceae [key only, modified]. In: Thiele, K.R. (ed). Flowering Plants of Australia. KeyBase: http://keybase.rbg.vic.gov.au/keys/show/6544 [Accessed: 12-12-2016].

3 (born-KeyBase): Schmidt-Lebuhn, A.N. (2016). Species of Craspedia. In: Thiele, K.R. (ed). Flowering Plants of Australia. KeyBase: http://keybase.rbg.vic.gov.au/keys/show/6544 [Accessed: 12-12-2016].

General form is:

. <["key only" [", modified"]]> In: . KeyBase: [Accessed ]
