2024 -2025 Mobilisation: SARDI (Biosec)

Summary

SARDI Aquatic and Livestock Sciences holds records of invasive, introduced, and native marine species from surveys conducted in South Australia and in Australia more broadly. Records are held in databases that are not publicly accessible, and SARDI also holds specimens in laboratory collections that have not been catalogued.

The data mobilisation activity will include the extraction of records from SARDI databases, quality checking records and ensuring all records are matched accurately to coordinates of sampling locations and all other available metadata, and transferring of records to Darwin Core format.

• mappings for the qPCR data being finalised
• additional details for recommended fields to be obtained from molecular lab
• some curation of visual surveys primarily focused on invasive Caulerpa underway but with some other observations of introduced species).
