Load Layer - AURIN layers #75

Several possibilities for relevant layers from Australian Urban Research Infrastructure Network http://aurin.org.au/

Locations of Indigenous communities Public through AURIN portal; Creative Comms licence and Copyright University of Adelaide

Indigenous indicator data - Number of people that identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Public through AURIN portal; Creative Comms licence and Copyright University of Adelaide

Tried to export one of these from the AURIN Portal but receiving the following error that isn't clear how to fix in the interface, as there is only one "study area" in the list:

"The study area is too large for the selected dataset. Please select a smaller study area."

Can't find the exact names referenced above in the AURIN Portal but may not be using the interface/search correctly.

Some of the indigenous data is mapped to the Statistical Area Level 2 codes, which will require a mapping onto the ABS dataset for those codes, possibly using the download on the following page:

Some of this data is available for the whole of Australia from the 5-yearly Australian Census, so possibly not necessary to use partial ad-hoc surveys from AURIN in those cases.

Reviewing: It would be good to have some data overlap with AURIN, noting https://www.tern.org.au/Newsletter-2020-Feb-Urban-Liveability-pg32993.html. But, who requested it and for what purposes? I will try and find a place on this repository for the criteria for evaluating requests.
