Requirements specific to IEK and for further discussion:
show boundaries of specified geographic area/s (e.g. an Indigenous Protected Area) on base map. Also be able to show areas where access is restricted.
show records from a particular contributor/s (e.g. a community or ranger group) in a different colour from base ALA records to distinguish between the two.
Ability to show records on the map within a private collection, without making those records publicly available in ALA data - for community use of the collection and decision making process about what information to make available

Editors can configure maps via #339. It was decided that there was no need to expand the admin options.
156 introduced colour-coding support, and #222 allowed the user to switch between the authoritative and 'full' view. Changing symbols is not supported.
