This is a native feature, just enable airplane mode.
It isnt tho. Because some homebrew may involve use of the network. (Like ftp server). But not Nintendo network. So there could be usecases for disabling Nintendo network without disabling ALL networking. Plus airplane mode disables Bluetooth and other hardware
Disable Nintendo network by blocking them from your network via router or firewall.
That works. But its not perfect. Ill look into it. But the idea is like with ferrox on PS3 you can disable cfw and enable PSN. (When cfw is enabled a plugin is loaded witch prevents the ps3 from talking to PSN) but can disable cfw and essentially go back to ofw!
That only works if you want it permanent, and it's a pain to have to change it every time you boot back to OFW. I agree an option to block Nintendo network traffic on CFW would be a great future addition.
He gets it!!
Thanks for all the hard work on atmosphere. Its going to be GREAT and you shal become our homebrew god!
But it's emunand ?
Nah. We’re talking about users that want to not use Nintendo network only when using CFW And boot into OFW to play online with a reduced risk of being banned
Use a proxy block the addresses with the port for your proxy added at the end for cfw and on ofw leave it open .
That could work. Using a second copy of your WiFi profile with no proxy and the main auto connect profile with a proxy. But its still not perfect and just a setting obeyed when atmosphere launches by default. But its not really a thing every user could do by themselves
a native approach such as a hosts file (windows example) would be great. Allows for users to specify what exactly to block, and adjustable once nintendo adds more domains or changes any.
Exactly as long as you keep an eye open with Wireshark you'll always spot them addresses.
I suggest adding the ability to turn off Nintendo network connectivity while atmosphere runs to reduce chances of a ban.
